Last week, Mark treated us to the Symphony. What a treat it was.
We started our night at Paul K, a restaurant in the theater district with a Mediterranean flair. The waiter we had used his hands when he talked. I mean really used his hands! We shared a mezza platter appetizer which includes: lamb riblets and kofte, baba & pomegranate dips, feta, olives, cipollini onions. Mark and I both had syrian spiced duck breast and that included: portobello mushrooms, yukon gold potatoes, ragu of duck confit, pomegranate molasses. Betsy had the pressed sumac chicken and that came with escarole, fingerling potatoes, garlic herb jus. Everything was wonderful. I have never had duck before and it was tasty. It was a lovely time and we were able to catch up on all our lives. The most exciting life being Marks who is about to embark on a multi-month trip of a lifetime all over the globe.
After the lovely dinner we walked a few blocks to the symphony building. The only downside of the night was missing the lunar eclipse. No big deal, we'll wait 'til 2010.
The symphony played 3 Mozart pieces and the special guest pianist Jonathan Biss was there. He's this crazy young amazing piano phenom. So amazing.
One of the really cool things about Symphony Hall is the balcony. It's not all the time you get to see the city from this angle.
Bets and Mark on the balcony.
Betsy and I on the balcony.
Thanks again Mark! We're so fancy now.

I missed that lunar eclipse, too, and I was so mad. But it wasn't because of anything cool like the symphony. Nope, I missed it because I was too busy watching the season premier of America's Next Top Model.
